Hi, My name is Mark James. My wife & I are long-time Marysville residents just like many of you.

My purpose for running is to bring a fresh new perspective and new energy to our Marysville City Council.

As a member of the Marysville Sunrise Rotary, an active local church leader, Volunteer for the Cold Weather Shelter, The Salvation Army and the Citizen Emergency Response Team I’ve been actively involved in the community for many years.

I was also a citizen committee member for the recently successful “Yes EMS” Levy.

To get the flavor of how I operate, you just need to take a look at how I have taken on the task of preparing myself for this position.

I have attended nearly every City Council meeting for the past 16 months. I have met one-on-one with each City Department Head, the Administrator and the Mayor.

I have met individually with most of the existing Council Members and I have met with and been on ride-alongs with both the Fire and the Police Departments.

I did all of this so that I could have a better understanding of how our city works, who it’s leaders are and how I might be able to work with them to affect real change for the better.

When elected, I will promote policies that will keep our city safe, clean and vibrant, including issues faced by today’s Fire, EMS & Police services.

I am also eager to find solutions to the ongoing issues of transportation, parks improvements, the local opioid epidemic and homelessness.

As a successful business owner I understand the importance of a thriving local economy.

Since it is my business to interact with Local Business owners, I am uniquely qualified among the existing Councilmembers in that I bring that unique and active Local Business perspective.

I am a man of faith, a husband, a father, a veteran and involved community leader.

My name is Mark James, and I would be honored to have your vote.
